Safe Contractor Gaining Approval

Safe Contractor is very much alive and well! Much speculation has circulated regarding the Safe Contractor Scheme, since it is one of the Connaught companies caught up in the news. Well, ‘Safe Contractor’ continues, so if you have been putting off your application, it is time to bring it back the fore.
Safe Contractor Approved companies benefit from more than the nice Safe Contractor logo! There is a lot to learn simply by completing the application and learning what levels of documentation are required. This is often a difficulty for Safe Contractor applicants, since it is easy to feel out of your depth, since the expectations are quite high.
It is fair to say that many applications for Safe Contractor fail to achieve the standard required and since you have already paid your fee, it can all seem rather frustrating. The Safe Contractor assessor will no doubt do their best to point you in the right direction, but tired and re-hashed health and safety risk assessments and a ‘borrowed’ Health and Safety Policy is very unlikely to achieve approval.
It is often better to think a little further ahead of a need to hold Safe Contractor and instead plan a little time to apply for the Safe Contractor Application, fill in the details that you are confident in and take a little help from a Health and Safety Consultant that has helped many other applicants achieve approval. That way, you will learn what is required and have the technical-side of the documentation done for you!
The vast majority of our clients take more than Safe Contractor Approval from the experience – we help everyone to achieve much better compliance (and therefore peace of mind) and work with them for years to come, through Safe Contractor re-approvals, CHAS approval, Construction Line and beyond.
If you would like a helping hand with Safe Contractor, simply give us a call or drop us an email, we are happy to help.
